{ INFORMATIVE MATERIAL } Expectation of a mother

“Mummy, what is Christmas?” asked four year old daughter Sharon

Mother thought for a while and replied, “Christmas is Jesus’ birthday”

“Then why don’t we give gifts to Jesus if it is His birthday?”

“It is tradition to exchange gifts in this season to express our love for each other”. Mother explained and that seemed to be the end of the matter.

It didn’t come up again until Christmas eve, when sleepy Sharon placed a package under the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. On her way to bed, she explained that it was a birthday gift for Jesus!

Mother voiced a surprise, “Ah?!”

“I am sure He would open it during the night when we are all asleep”.

Mother did not want her little daughter to be disappointed. So she opened the clumsily wrapped package and found the box empty!

On Christmas morning Sharon was thrilled to find that the package was open and her gift gone.

“I am sure Jesus liked my gift, mom” she jumped in glee.

“But, what was in it?’ asked the confused mother who never expected this answer.

“It was a box full of love,” came the answer. How child-like! How Christ-like!
